Computer Lab
In today’s society, learning to navigate computers and the internet is increasingly important. While computer access may not be essential for most people in Honduras, it is still valuable, as many high school, vocational, and college classes require it.
In May 2025, we completed the construction and installation of a computer lab next to the community school. The lab includes a color printer/copier for teachers and students, as well as seven computers for student use. The computers are available to high school students when they are not in class and are also available for teachers at the community school to use for classroom instruction. Internet access is provided through a Starlink service. Students pay a small fee for copies and prints, and those funds are used to purchase additional supplies.
Only 3% of educational institutions in Honduras have access to the Internet, according to a report by El Heraldo. The country has a total of 17,525 schools, out of which only 2,589 possess computer labs. However, the report highlights that the coverage gap is smaller, with only 500 schools having Internet service.
