A time to pray and play

This week, we had a team with us in Honduras, focused on building relationships with the community. As a side benefit, we also constructed a playground. Hondurans and Americans worked side by side—connecting, problem-solving, and sharing in the joy of the project.

On Tuesday night, we gathered for a prayer meeting on the property, so near the landfill. Together, Hondurans and Americans lifted their hearts to the God of heaven. Under the stars, in one of the most impoverished places, it felt as if heaven took notice of our prayers. Words can’t fully capture the beauty of that moment.

The following evening, with the playground partially completed, we held a service beside it while neighborhood children played. The sound of God’s Word mixed with their laughter created a beautiful offering to the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Once again, a night of worship under the stars.

As I remain here, we’ll continue extending the water project and, hopefully, set up a computer lab. One challenge is maintaining the technology long-term, but we’re working on a solution within the public school system (hopefully) and with tech-savvy members of the community.

Thank you for your prayers and support—it means more than words can express.
